Moving in Mainz

You must register your new address at the Mainz service center. This must be done within 14 days after moving in.

Your vehicle must be re-registered at the Mainz vehicle registration office. This must be done immediately.

Your new address must be entered in your ID card. This can be done directly at the service center.

Anyone moving to Mainz with a dog must re-register it there – even if it was registered elsewhere. Registration is done at the tax office or public order office. You will receive a dog tax tag which the dog must wear outdoors. In Mainz the dog tax is 186 €/Jahr for the first dog.
