Moving in Münster

You must register your new address at the Münster citizens' office. This must be done within 14 days after moving in. In Münster this can also be done completely online!

Set up a mail forwarding order with Deutsche Post – mail still sent to your old address will automatically be forwarded to you. Duration selectable: 3, 6 or 12 months (from approx. €29).

Your vehicle must be re-registered at Münster's traffic authority to your new address. If moving within Münster, you keep your MS license plate.

Your new address must be entered in your ID card. Do this at the citizens' office – ideally together with registration.
