Organizing Care in Frankfurt

The application for care level is submitted to the care insurance (part of health insurance). An assessor from MDK visits the person in need of care.

Depending on care level, various benefits are available: care allowance, care services or combination.

When the caregiver is unavailable (vacation, illness), the care insurance covers the costs for replacement care.

Statutory long-term care insurance covers on average only about 50% of actual care costs. Supplementary care insurance closes the gap and prevents relatives from having to cover the costs.
